Day 1 : New Delhi
Hotel : Country Inn & Suites by Radisson or equally good. After breakfast and accompanied by our guide visit Akshardham Temple, Chandni Chowk and the Delhi Hatt, Gurudwara Bangla Saheb and Connaught Place. Take a walking tour of the Hauz Khas Village. Dinner overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 : New Delhi
Hotel : Country Inn and Suites by Radisson or equally good After an early breakfast take a full-day tour of Delhi visiting the Qutub Minar, the Lotus Temple, India Gate, Nizamuddin’s Tomb and the Red Fort. Pass by the Presidential Palace called Rashtrapati Bhawan. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay
Day 3 : New Delhi – Agra
After breakfast check out from your hotel and drive 160 km to Agra – city of Taj Mahal, one of the world’s finest monuments. A symbol of undying love you will find the site mesmerizing. Check into your hotel. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon see Itamad-Ud-Daulah’s Tomb. This mausoleum is famous for its beautiful architecture. Another great place you will visit is the 16-century sand stone Red Fort that has inside it the Jahangir Palace & the Khas Palace. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 4 : Agra – Jaipur Early morning visit the Taj Mahal. From here drive 235 km to Jaipur – India’s pink city. Enroute see the famous bird sanctuary at Bharatpur. Take a cycle rickshaw ride inside the sanctuary to see migratory birds in large numbers that come here from as far as Siberia. Arrive Jaipur by evening to a warm welcome by your tour operator and his wife – both scions of former royal families – who will host a gala dinner with bar-be-cue, unlimited drinks in your honour. On this occasion you will get to meet a few members from other noble families also. The evening will be enlivened with folk music and dances. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 5 : Jaipur – Samode – Kalwar
Early morning drive 45 km to the Samode Bagh & Palace to see its exquisite fresco paintings & mirror engravings. Visit the temples and cenotaphs around. Enjoy a brunch at the palace before returning to Jaipur. After lunch and rest take a 45-minute rejuvenating massage under the supervision of a famous Ayurveda doctor. Around 6:45 PM leave for Castle Kalwar – a lovely 150-year old castle situated 20 km from Jaipur. This castle is owned & operated by a scion of the royal family of Kalwar. He is a highly decorated general of the Indian army and a great host. Enjoy barbecue and dinner in the beautiful environs of the castle before driving back to Jaipur for overnight stay. Day 6 : Jaipur – Amer After breakfast take an excursion to Forts of Amer,Jaigarh and Nahargarh – a breathtaking complex situated 11 km from Jaipur city. Here climb up Fort Amer on an elephant ! On return to Jaipur see the City Palace & Museum, the Albert Hall Museum, the Palace of Winds ( Hawa Mahal ) and the Observatory. Take a cycle rickshaw ride through the colourful jewellers’ bazaars of Jaipur and then see the beautiful all-white marble Birla Temple. Dinner at a famous restaurant. Overnight at your hotel
Day 7 : Jaipur – Ranthambore
Hotel : The Pugmark or equally good. After breakfast drive to Ranthambore – that has one of the world’s best tiger sanctuaries. Spread over 500 sq. km this sanctuary has many other animals such as cheetah, antelopes, deer, Neelgai, rabbits and Langoors. Check into your lovely resort. Lunch here, In the late afternoon take a jeep safari deep into the thick forests of the sanctuary to see tigers and other animals at close quarters. Return to your resort for dinner and overnight stay
Day 8 : Ranthambore -Kishangarh
Hotel : Phool Mahal Palace at Kishangarh Take again a jeep safari in the other part of the sanctuary. Breakfast at your resort. Visit the 10th century fort of Swai Madhopur by climbing up through stairs. Atop the fort are located several beautiful temples. A must-see is the Trinetra Ganesh Temple. Return to your resort for lunch. Check out and proceed to Kishangarh – a town once ruled by the Maharajas. Kishangarh is world famous for the 16th century miniature paintings collectively called the Kishangarh School of Paintings. The theme of these paintings is the life of :Lord Krishna much revered by the Hindus across the world. Check into Phool Mahal Palace owned and operated by the heir of the former Maharaja of Kishangarh. The palace is just on the shores of a lake and you would love to stay here. Enjoy dinner on the lawns of the palace overlooking the lake. Overnight at the palace. Day 9 : Kishangarh – Pushkar Hotel : Phool Mahal Palace by the lake After breakfast visit Fort Kishangarh located adjacent to the place of your stay. This ancient fort has a great history behind it. See the massive cannons and ornate carriages in the fort. This fort also has a studio where students learn the fine art of reproducing on paper and silk the original miniature paintings. Take a walk around the lanes of this town where shopkeepers make condiments & savouries. It is so fascinating. After lunch take an excursion to Pushkar – the temple town located 35 km from here. This place is much sacred to Hindus. It is the only place where there is a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma – the God of Creator in Hindu mythology. Visit the sacred pond here and see religious rituals being performed. Around 4.00 PM see ” aarti” being performed by priests to the Lord. From here drive nearby to the beautiful Araambagh Pushkar resort for an ayurvedic massage. Enjoy bar-be-cue and dinner in its sylvan surroundings. Driver back to Phool Mahal Palace for overnight stay. Day 10 : Kishangarh – Bijaipur
After breakfast check out from Phool Mahal Palace and drive on the national highway to Bijaipur – a village located in the Vindhaynchal Hills 600 metres above sea level. Check into Bijaipur Castle – a magnificent heritage property – owned and operated by a scion of the noble family of Bijaipur. The owner is a great horse rider, yoga enthusiast and a gracious host. After a warm welcome by him and his family enjoy your lunch. Enjoy an ayurvedic massage and drive 12 km to the lake for a walking tour. The owner will serve you delicious food at dinner. Day 11 : Bijaipur Hotel : Castle Bijaipur After breakfast visit Fort Chittorgarh – a marvel of military engineering – located 12 km from your Castle. This fort is on UNESCO World Heritage Sites List. Spread over three sq. km on a hill it has lovely monuments such as the Tower of Victory, the Meera Temple, the Jain Temple, the massive water reservoirs. There are hoards of moneys to delight you. Return to the Castle for lunch. After lunch take a jeep safari through the villages and hamlets stopping now and then to see crafts persons making lac bangles, jewellery, handicrafts, etc. See traditional dance & music performances while you enjoy your dinner. Day 12 : Udaipur
Hotel : Udai Kothi or equally good. After breakfast check out from the castle and drive to Udaipur – India’s most romantic city of lakes. Check into a lake-facing hotel. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon visit the Garden-for-Maidens, the old bazaars of the city, Jagdish Temple, and other lovely gardens of the city. Dinner and overnight at your hotel
Day 13: Udaipur – Kumbhalgarh Hotel : Udai Kothi or equally good. After breakfast take an excursion to Kumbhalgarh – location of India’s most formidable fort that rightly is on UNESCO World Heritage Sites List. Enroute visit the beautiful Nagda and Eklingji Temples. At Kumbhalgarh enjoy lunch at the Kumbhalgarh Royal Villas. Visit the fort that has ramparts wide enough to allow eleven horses to trot side-by-side ! Drive back to Udaipur for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 14 : Udaipur
After breakfast take a cruise on pristine Lake Pichola – a man made lake surrounded by lush green hills. From here drive nearby to the City Palace museum to see an astonishing collection of vintage cars, antique armoury, paintings, manuscripts and silver artifacts. Drive up the Monsoon Palace and see in the evening a classical dance performance at the beautiful Bagor-Ki-Haveli. Dinner at the lake-facing famous restaurant Amrai. Presentation of gifts.
